For more than a century, Bresee Tower stood as one of Danville's most iconic landmarks. Built in 1918 as the First National Bank Building, the twelve-story structure became a symbol of the city's growth and downtown pride. In the 1960s it was renamed Bresee Tower in honor of local businessmen and brothers Paul and H. R. "Tiz" Bresee, whose family played an important role in Danville's business community.
After standing for more than one hundred years, the tower was demolished in 2025. As one chapter of Danville's history came to an end, we wanted its legacy to live on — that's why we chose the name Bresee Bar & Grill. Opened in March 2026 by Deana and Josh Turner, our goal is to honor a landmark that meant so much to our community while creating a place where people can gather, share great food, and make new memories. Though the tower is gone, the Bresee name continues to represent community, tradition, and hometown pride.
We cook from scratch, fry in beef tallow, pour generously, and name our drinks after Danville legends — each one with its story on the menu. Whether you're in for coffee and donut holes in the morning, game day on the screens, or cocktails with friends at night — you're welcome here.
